ITW spaces – past and present

ITW is short for "Ingenieurunternehmung für Technik und Wirtschaft" and draws on more than 30 years’ experience in planning and building homes, as well as business, industrial and service buildings. ITW was founded by Werner Vogt as an individual enterprise back in 1971, which then became the ITW engineering company headquartered in Balzers, Liechtenstein, in 1973.

In the 1980s, ITW started offering engineering services for heating, ventilation, sanitation, air conditioning and electrical systems. Over time, the integrated system consultation and co-ordination developed into a comprehensive project management service that focuses on the design, co-ordination and installation of technical household systems. In order to be able to guarantee maintenance and operation at all times, the ITW technical Facility Management team was developed, which today forms a significant part of the company. Soon thereafter, the specialist areas of safety engineering and safety consultation followed. Thanks to the wide-ranging specialist knowledge, ITW now operates as a general contractor and full service contractor.

ITW initially operated in Liechtenstein and neighbouring regions, and through collaboration with an important industrial company in the region, other factories in the former Czechoslovakia, Poland, Russia and the People's Republic of China could be built. Later, ITW Ingenieurunternehmung AG (Switzerland) was founded in Zurich and this brought with it important operations in central Switzerland with a focus on the Zurich conurbation.
